Note: For any elective course (prerequisite or free choice) to be active

  • If the elective has practical nature and is associated with individual sports, it should be selected from at least four (4) students.
  • If the elective course is associated with a team sport, or has a theoretical nature, it should be selected from at least six (6) students.

Elective courses

- The pre-requisite elective courses that are offered during the 2nd year of studies are pre-requisites for the corresponding specializations which either do not have respective 1st– and 2nd-year Core Courses or a respective Didactics course.

- Each pre-requisite course is offered exclusively either within Fall (3rd) Semester or within Spring (4th) Semester during the 2nd year of studies.

Students wishing to follow a Specialization during the Concentration Studies (3rd & 4th year of studies) are obliged to successfully attend the respective pre-requisite course, getting a mark of at least seven (7) which, according to ECTS, corresponds to grade C (good).

Concentrations - Specializations

Students wishing to follow a Specialization during the Concentration Studies (3rd & 4th year of studies) are obliged to successfully attend the respective pre-requisite course, getting a mark of at least seven (7) which, according to ECTS, corresponds to grade C (good).

Each practical didactics course of the Spring Semester (2nd & 4th Semester) constitutes the pre-requisite course for a corresponding specialization.

For the Specializations that there are no prerequisites during the 1st or 2nd year, there are specific 2nd-year elective courses (3rd or 4th Semester) from which any student can choose up to four.

  • The signing for the prerequisite courses that are offered exclusively during the fall or the spring semester will take place prior the beginning of the respective semester electronically via https://unistudent.duth.gr/ 
  • The exact dates will be announced on time by the Secretariat of the Department

Courses of compulsory observation

Non-Attedance: For those courses where attendance is compulsory, students are allowed not to attend 30% of the total number of lectures taught in every semester (General Assembly Decision 382/25-5- 2009).

* During Concentration Studies each students can chose:
either 4 elective courses
(5th, 6th, 7th, 8th elective courses)
or 1 elective course (5th elective course) plus a Dissertation Study (courses with ID N165, N175 and N185).

For Dissertation Study (course N185) the successful completion of the courses N165 and N175, during the 6thand 7th semester is required. This comes in replacement of the 6th, 7th and 8th elective courses.
