
During the “1st Student Games 2017 of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace”, held on May 3–4, two (2) parallel activities were organized for the attending and visiting students:
Activity 1: “Value-Based Movement Games: ETHNOA Park”
A total of 695 students from 14 primary schools in Xanthi, Komotini, and Alexandroupoli participated in movement-based activities and games designed to teach and promote core values, within a specially designed natural environment.
Activity 2: “Young Researchers: Guided Tour of the DPESS-DUTH Laboratories”
A total of 311 students from 6 primary schools in Komotini and Alexandroupoli visited the School’s laboratories, received information about the scientific disciplines represented, their objectives and equipment, and engaged in hands-on experimentation with selected instruments.
The two activities were coordinated by Professor Vasiliki Derri and Associate Professor Olga Kouli of the School.
Head of Activity (1) “Value-Based Movement Games: ETHNOA Park” was Ms. Olympia Aleiferi, Detached Physical Education Teacher, and Head of Activity (2) “Young Researchers: Guided Tour of the DPESS-DUTH Laboratories” was Mr. Thodoros Evangelidis, also a Detached Physical Education Teacher.
Valuable support was provided by 32 volunteers, including doctoral, postgraduate, and undergraduate students of our School.
